General Information
The aim of our graduate program within the Department of Midwifery;
Today, midwifery, which has complex and high responsibilities in the field of mother-child health, women's health and community health in the world and is accepted as a scientific field, strengthens its unique scientific base and can function at an equal level with other health-related disciplines, and it is possible to train members who can produce knowledge and solutions in this field. This can be achieved through doctoral programs. The doctorate program in midwifery is fundamental for the development of midwifery and its ability to make a strong contribution to the field of health. Our important goal is to be a recognized and preferred program that develops innovations to meet the health care needs of women and newborns in national and international arenas.
It is expected that the midwives of the future will be beneficial to their institutions and countries by growing and developing in the light of midwifery and other sciences with the doctorate program. The importance of doctoral education has gradually increased for "Midwifery", which has a young history in higher education in our country. Due to the limited number of doctoral programs, our doctoral program, which can meet regional requirements, is an important value. In addition, it is one of our other priorities to train midwives who provide the protection, development and solution of the health of women and newborns with a holistic approach by using their professional knowledge, skills and values, offer research and education services to the people of the world with up-to-date technology, and contribute to the strengthening of the midwifery profession.
Our doctorate program in the Department of Midwifery was opened with the decision of the Higher Education General Assembly after the Higher Education Executive Board examined it on 24.06.2020 and started education in the 2020-21 Academic Year Fall Semester. In the Midwifery Department of our faculty; Currently, there are 1 Professor, 1 Associate Professor, 8 Assistant Professors, 1 Lecturer, 4 Research Assistants. In the department, there are 1 Professor Doctor, 1 Associate Professor, 8 Assistant Professor. Member, as well as 2 Professors, 2 Associate Professors, 1 Assistant Professor from different disciplines. Its member supports the doctoral program.
Midwives who live in Tokat and the surrounding provinces as well as in other regions of Turkey and have not been able to find this opportunity due to the limited doctoral program in this field, and who are considering increasing their knowledge and skills in this field by doing a doctorate in midwifery, can choose us.

Midwifery Doctorate Program; According to the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ), it is located in the Basic Area of Health and the education level is level 8. In addition, it is group 3 according to the 'European Higher Education Area Qualifications Framework' (QF-EHEA) and level 8 according to the 'European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning' (EQF-LLL).

Midwifery Doctorate Program; Candidates who want to apply to the PhD program in the Department of Midwifery must have a Midwifery Bachelor's degree and have completed their education in Midwifery, Obstetrics and Women's Health Nursing Master's programs in Health Sciences or Graduate Education Institutes.
During midwifery undergraduate education; In accordance with the midwifery undergraduate curriculum developed within the scope of harmonization with the European Union, the student must have completed the criteria to be completed before graduation (Regulation on the Determination of Minimum Education Conditions for Doctor, Nursing, Midwifery, Dentistry, Veterinary, Pharmacy and Architecture Education Programs, 02-02-2008). For the admission requirements to the proposed program, the reasons of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Graduate Education Institute Graduate Education Regulation will be taken into consideration.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of previous formal learning in higher education institutions vertical, horizontal and intra-university transitions are carried out according to Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Graduate Education Institute, Graduate Education and Training Regulation.

Students who successfully complete the Ph.D. program earn the title of Doctor of Science (Phd.). They are employed as lecturers in the private sector and government staff, Family and Community Health Centers or State/Foundation Universities and can take part in their academic staff. They can find job opportunities in various scientific research institutions and organizations in Turkey and abroad.

Graduates;

4.Plan midwifery care within the framework of the requirements determined within the scope of the midwifery diagnosis process,

6.Determine the training needs of the patient and healthy individual in the field of health,
7.Prepare a training plan in accordance with the determined requirement,
8.Implement the planned training, evaluate its results,
9.Can apply the treatments given in writing, except in emergencies,
10. Can perform the duties in the legislation put into effect in family medicine practice.
